Drugs have been seized outside the Cadell Training Centre.
Police allege they located around 50 grams of methamphetamine and glass pipes after they searched a vehicle in the carpark Sunday afternoon.
The driver, a 40-year-old Spalding man, was then arrested.
From there, Police searched the man’s home address to allegedly locate a loaded .22 calibre rifle, ammunition and a further quantity of drugs and paraphernalia.
He’s now facing several charges, including:
- Trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
- Possessing a firearm without a licence.
- Possessing an unregistered firearm.
- Possessing ammunition without a licence.
He appeared in the Berri Magistrates Court Monday & was remanded in custody to reappear later this year.
Police say they remain committed to supporting the Department for Correctional Services in detecting and preventing the supply of drugs and other contraband into prisons across South Australia.
