A pedestrian in Renmark has sustained injuries, following a crash earlier this week.
Tuesday this week Police were called to Axon Lane after reports a Mazda station wagon had crashed.
Police allege the driver was located shortly after, and was arrested and taken to hospital due to his level of intoxication.
On further investigation it was revealed the driver, a 38-year-old local man, had struck a pedestrian in Nineteenth Street earlier.
The pedestrian, a 68-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the driver was charged with driving without due care and leaving the scene of an accident after causing harm.
He was issued with an immediate loss of licence for 12 months, while his car was seized for forensic examination.
He was bailed to attend court at a later date.
