Sport vouchers proving popular

The popularity of junior sport vouchers provided by the State Government sport continues to grow in the Riverland.

Children from Reception to Year 9 can access two $100 vouchers each year to help cover the cost of sport, dance, swimming and further active recreation activities.  

The program has now seen one million vouchers used since 2015, delivering over $88M in savings for families.

For the Riverland, Netball & Gymnastics are the two most popular activities so far this year, with Renmark & Loxton the towns using the vouchers the most.

In 2025 Australian Rules football was the most popular sport for voucher use in the Riverland, with 768 vouchers claimed.

Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing, Rhiannon Pearce MP said Reaching one million claimed Sports Vouchers is an extraordinary achievement and shows just how valuable this program has become for families right across South Australia.
