More positive environmental outcomes have been observed at Chowilla.
The location to the North of Renmark has seen environmental water activity for several years, with recently officials noticing multiple little pied cormorant nests.
Officials say it’s a positive sign for the continuing health of these wetlands after many years of delivery of water for the environment.

It’s hoped the recent observation could prompt further populations in the area, with Cormorants relying on the presence of water, healthy fish populations and suitable nesting habitats.
