A much loved British breakfast staple has officially landed across Coles supermarkets, sparking excitement — especially among expats missing a taste of home.
From 3 November, shoppers around Australia will be able to grab Warburtons Crumpets, following a strong response during a limited trial earlier in the year.
British expats call them “the best”
One recent UK arrival, Danni Rose, who moved from West Yorkshire to WA with her husband, could barely contain her joy online. Calling Warburtons “the GOAT of all crumpets”, she admitted she’d been underwhelmed by her local options.

Price & where to find them
The six-pack of Warburtons Crumpets (330g) is priced at $5, offering slightly better value than a 300g six-pack of Golden Crumpet Rounds, which sits at $4.80.
A Coles spokesperson said the Warburtons range has been popular since it first arrived in 2023, and they’re thrilled to be the exclusive Australian stockist — meaning you won’t find them at Woolworths.
Crumpet lovers celebrate
News of the breakfast favourite’s nationwide release has already lit up social media. British shoppers promised they’d be “running to Coles” and couldn’t wait to fill their trolleys.
Jonathan Warburton, chairman of the company, said he’s thrilled to see their crumpets reach Aussie homes. He believes customers will love their signature fluffy texture and enjoy experimenting with toppings.
He added that their versatility is part of their appeal, encouraging people to get creative.
Warburtons holds the title of the UK’s most-chosen grocery brand and operates the world’s largest crumpet bakery — producing more than 800 million crumpets annually.
