New Movie Trailer Leaves a “Sting”

Arachnophobes look away now a frightening trailer just dropped like a red-back spider from your rear view mirror while you are driving alone on the highway and it’s for a new creature thriller called “Sting” that is coming to cinemas in 2024.

After raising an unnervingly talented spider in secret, 12-year-old Charlotte must face the facts about her pet—and fight for her family’s survival—when the once-charming creature rapidly transforms into a giant, flesh-eating monster.

But why does it look so real? Well, the film’s practical spider effects are made by Academy Award-winning studio Weta Workshop who recently worked on films like Dune 2, Cocaine Bear & Avatar: The Way of Water.

The film stars Ryan Corr, Alyla Browne, Penelope Mitchell, Robyn Nevin, Noni Hazelhurst, Silvia Colloca, Danny Kim, and Jermaine Fowler. “Sting” is written and directed by Kiah Roache-Turner (“Wyrmwood,” “Nekrotronic”) and will release cinemas in the US from April 12th but in Australia on May the 2nd!
