Australian council wants to introduce see-through wheelie bins

Bin Lids

An Australian council has proposed using see-through wheelie bins to encourage people to recycle correctly.

The Adelaide councillors hope the initiative will ‘rubbish shame’ people into thinking about how they’re using their bins. The proposal promises two main benefits. The first and most obvious is that people will be less inclined to miss-use their bins if everyone can see inside.

The other is it will be easier for people to spot cans and bottles when collecting them for the 10c refund available in South Australia.

What do you think – would you support see-through bins in the Riverland?
