A six-part TV Series about people stuck in an immigration detention centre. I'm sure, at the very least, it will explore Australia's own treatment of asylum seekers.

Blanhcett, and her husband, Andrew Upton, are producing the tv series, through their Dirty Films company, alongside the ABC, Screen Australia and Matchbox Films.

Production begins next month here in South Australia, at Adelaide Studios. We're beginning to see a trend for films and tv series being filmed in SA - with 90% of the upcoming Netflix sci-fi film, I Am Mother, being filmed in Adelaide too! Not to mention earlier in the year, eagle-eyed South Aussies spied Daniel Radcliffe in Adelaide, as he was working on his upcoming film, Escape From Pretoria.

Blanchett's series centers on four strangers — a flight attendant trying to escape from a suburban cult, an Afghan refugee fleeing persecution, a young Aussie father attempting to escape a dead-end job and a bureaucrat wrapped up in a national scandal — all of them are stuck in an immigration detention center in the Australian desert.

“Whilst this story centers on Australia, the dilemmas that it explores through four absorbing characters will resonate globally: the desire for personal freedom, the need for social stability, an escalating lack of faith in the political process and the deeply unsettling impact this has on individual lives,” Blanchett said.

Personally we can't wait to see it! So keep your eyes peeling, you might see Cate around the Spencer Gulf and Mid North!
