Jennifer Lawrence opens up about leaving school

Jennifer Lawrence slams 'utterly ridiculous' controversy surrounding her Versace dress

Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about leaving high school at age 14.

In an interview with 60 Minutes, J-Law said “I dropped out of middle school. I don’t technically have a GED (equivalent to a Year 12 Certificate) or a diploma. I am self-educated.

“I struggled through school. I never felt very smart. And when I’m reading the script and I feel like I know exactly what it would look like if somebody felt that way, that was a whole part of my brain that I didn’t even know existed, something I could be confident in, and I didn’t want to let it go.”

But she says she doesn't regret the choice.

“I wanted to forge my own path,” she said. “I found what I wanted to do and I didn’t want anything getting in the way of it. Even friends, for many years, were not as important to me as my career.”

Yep, real talk.

Now although we want to encourage staying in school and finishing your education, it's just proof that you don't need to be the most educated to succeed in life.
