One of the biggest superstars of the 2000's, Avril Lavigne, has announced she is releasing a brand new single after a five year hiatus. The singer was diognosed with Lyme Disease in 2014 which left her bed ridden with Lavigne saying she had "accepted death"
Lavigne released a letter to fans on her official website saying "Head Above Water is the first song I wrote from my bed during one of the scariest moments of my life. I had accepted death and could feel my body shutting down," she then added "I felt like I was drowning. Like I was going under water and I just needed to come up for air". This is Avril's first music release since her 2013 self titled album "Avril Lavigne" with fans eagerly waiting for new music.
Lyme diseases can be contracted from a tick bite with the singer saying "A single bug bite can f#@k you up hard and people aren't aware that lyme must be treated almost immediately. She stated "while the past few years have been the worst of my life" she says she was able to "turn that fight into muisc i'm really proud of"
Avrils brand new single "Head Above Water" drops Sept. 15.
