Recently commitments have been finalized between Thailand and Australia that will remove the of tariff rate quotas for Australian potatoes.
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud said the removal of limits was a boost forpotatofarmers.
Mr Littleproud went on to say “Last year, Thailand was the second largestpotatoexport market for Australian potatoes at $4.6 million in 2019 and the removal of the remaining constraints is only going to help grow our exports:.
South Australia is a massive driver of the Australian potato industry making up 80% of the national crop with 41% of that coming from the Riverland and Mallee.
