As more details of the sports rorts funding scheme come to hand, a local football club that missed out on funding says it’s disappointing.
In a report released by the national broadcaster last week the Barmera-Monash Football club’s application for community sport infrastructure funding received a score of 76 out of 100, above the threshold identified by the auditor general of 74.
A spokesperson from the Barmera-Monash football club said their grant application was a combined effort with the neighbouring basketball & bowling clubs.
While the club was the recipient of funding through round three of the national stronger regions fund in recent years, the Member for Barker Tony Pasin told the Murray pioneer the final decision process for where funds were allocated with the sport infrastructure grant program was out of his control.
