In an effort to assist drought affected farmers, Adelaide’s Desalination plant will increase production, something that could assist local growers.

Premier Steven Marshall said at a time of national urgency, South Australia is proud to stand with and support farmers when they need us most.

Premier Marshall also said “the Adelaide Desalination Plant has already been used to increase the water available to holders of South Australian River Murray allocations by eight percent and the government are further extending these benefits to a broader range of farmers in this time of national need.

The plant itself was completed in 2012 and has remained mostly dormant since.
