Changes to houseboat mooring at the Morgan riverfront is set to encourage visitors to stay longer as well as improving river access for other users.
The changes come in response to community feedback, both from houseboat operators as well as local business.
Under the proposed changes, a new overnight mooring site will be established and clearly identified with signage that will allow boats to moor for up to 48 hours.
Mid Murray Council Mayor Dave Burgess said the changes sought to strike a balance for all river users saying “The Morgan riverfront is popular not only for houseboat operators, but also for recreational boaters, day-trip visitors and residents,”
Further info on the changes can be found via the Mid Murray Council’s website.
