Local residents have been left shocked, following the sinking of the Argo barge in Renmark.
According to reports the vessel was floating at 11am Sunday however by 5pm the historic barge had sunk, with some suggesting high winds may have been a factor.
Owners of the Barge, the Renmark-Paringa council have said all relevant authorities have been notified and council will now work out what do.
In recent times it had been suggested the barge become a land based exhibit.
Council said via a statement yesterday they will keep the community informed with any updates.
