In what has been a hot topic the Loxton-Waikerie council has received over 200 public submissions on a proposed riverfront development plan for Waikerie.

The draft riverfront and trials plan was met with some controversy and received many comments surrounding the proposed move of Leonard Norman drive.

Loxton-Waikerie Council CEO David Beaton said the response from the community showcases the public passion for the town.

Mr Beaton also said “the council will prepare a report a report detailing the parts of the plan people basically like or don’t like”. Mr Beaton also went to re-affirm that nothing is set in stone as of yet.

The local Waikerie delivers group will also asses the submissions and recommend a preferred way forward.
