Loxton’s joint venture Library, visitor information centre looks like it will become a permanent fixture following elected members voting in favour for the move.
While the move has been endorsed the trial end date has been indefinitely delayed, following discussions with the Local government union – as reported in the Loxton News.
CEO of the Loxton Waikerie council David Beaton said he could now establish the organisational structure after receiving support from elected members.
Mr Beaton also said the new service is not a joint library – visitor centre, it is a library that provides visitor services.
Self-serve library checkouts are also expected to be installed at the library soon.
