Despite some parts of the plan behind schedule, Water resource plans for the Murray Darling Basin are well underway.
MDBA Executive Director of Water Resource Planning and Accounting, Dr Peta Derham, said the coming months would be a test of the state and territory governments' commitment to submit high quality water resource plans (WRPs) that comply with the Murray–Darling Basin Plan.
Dr Derham also said "It is very pleasing that proposed WRPs for areas in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and the ACT have now been assessed by the MDBA or are in the process of being assessed,"
As of this month SA’s Murray Regionarea WRP had been forwarded to the minister for consideration.
