Nudists who attend the pelican point nudist area in Barmera claim they may be made to relocate to a new area.
Local nudists have been going to the same spot at Lake Bonney’s south western foreshore since 1975 however claim a new area some 600 meters from their current location designated to them by the Berri Barmera council is unsuitable.
Garry Cornish from the Pelican Point Users group told the Murray Pioneer the group just wants to keep their 250 meters of lake frontage they have always had.
As reported in the Murray Pioneer a representative from the council said the policy was reviewed last year and no amendments were made, however the user group claims council is referring to the wrong beach.
The beach is Australia’s only inland nudist beach.
