ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT

SA police

SA police are pleased to report that of the hundreds of Rivergoers spoken to by SA police over summer most were doing the right thing. However there is still room for improvement.

Of concern for police was a number of solo boaties found not wearing a PFD device, as well as occupants of vessels less than 4.8 meters also not wearing PFD’s

Police conducted 148 safety equipment checks, and noted that generally there was good compliance.

What was of concern for SA police was one Jet Ski operator – a 31-year-old man from Mt Barker who tested positive for methamphetamine.

The man is expected to face further legal consequences upon the completion of forensic testing.
