Council rates in the Loxton-Waikerie council will increase by 2.85 percent following the council giving the green light to its 2018/2019 annual business plan.
The 2.85% rate rise is just .5% over CPI and still below the Local Government price index of 2.9%
In what could be seen as somewhat interesting, pubic consultation on the annual business plan was slightly higher this year with the council receiving 12 written submissions.
Acting council CEO Tim Tol told the Murray pioneer Councillors were pleased to adopt the plan before the start of the new financial year.
Some of the major projects in the plan include the Waikerie CBD revitalisation project, construction of Waikerie’s storm water catchment system and Loxton’s multi-million dollar sporting precinct.
