Riverland students may be able to score one of 1,200 scholarships the Australian Government has announced as part of a big to encourage South Australians to upskill and take advantage of opportunities in growing or emerging local industries.

Minister for Education and Training Simon Birmingham yesterday outlined the details of the Commonwealth Scholarships Program for South Australia, which will support students at any level from a Certificate III through to a PhD in areas that will lead to employment in the State’s growth sectors.

These sectors include the defence force, health services and medical research, wine and food, energy, and tourism and hospitality.
