Riverland councils are now a step closer to completing vital town projects after collectively securing $1.1 million in State Government funds.

The District Council of Loxton Waikerie will receive $600,000 – and match it dollar for dollar – towards its Waikerie CBD revitalisation project. While the Berri Barmera Council will receive $494,551 – and contribute $484,553 – to redevelop the Berri Vietnam Veterans War Memorial and nearby riverfront area.

Renmark Paringa Council will also match, dollar for dollar, its $15,000 grant to develop a plan to create an appealing public space at Darnley Taylor Park. This project is one of 27 across South Australia to receive a share of $7 million in funding under the Open Space and Places for People grants under the Planning and Development Fund.
