DSC 0385 X3
Volunteers from across the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin region were given a hearty acknowledgment at the recent Riverland Natural Resources Management Group volunteer recognition day.

Administration from the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources highlighted how the management of natural resources is underpinned by the skills, knowledge, energy and time of countless volunteers.

More than 30 people attended the event which was held at Olivewood Estate in Renmark.

Local historian, Heather Everingham, took guests on a trip back in time with stories about the Chaffey Brothers - the original owners of Olivewood Estate - who were the first to commence colonised irrigation in Australia at Renmark.
