There's concern mounting in the almond industry over bee movement restrictions.

As it sits authorities are working hard to eradicate the Varroa mite in NSW, with other states placing restrictions on bee movement.

Speaking to reporters this week, Almond Board Australia chief executive Tim Jackson said the almond industry's billion-dollar crop was dependent on bee movement by the end of July.

It’s said around 300,000 hives are needed each year for pollination along Murray Darling basin almond plantations.
