The Southern Mallee Council will need to find a new CEO, following news this week current CEO Jason Taylor would be leaving the council.
Starting in 2018 on a three year contract, and having had two one-year extensions Taylor's tenure saw many projects undertaken including two childcare centre’s established, as well as significant major strategic road upgrades.
Southern Mallee Mayor Jeff Nickolls said the Council and its residents had benefitted greatly from Mr Taylor’s tenure and would be sad to see him leave
Mayor Nickolls added further via a statement “The cessation of Mr Taylor’s contract was to make way for new leadership as the local government election approached in November, at which time there will most likely be a change in the leadership role of the elected body”.
Outgoing CEO Mr Taylor finishes up on the 4th of July.
