Waikerie now has a gap at the top of the Riverland Footy League, after a 25-point win over Barmera-Monash in Round Five action on Saturday.  

The low-scoring affair was in still in the balance at three-quarter time, however the Magpies kicked the only two goals of the last to claim the win, 7.11 53 to 4.4 28.  

Loxton North now sit a game adrift after they were beaten by Renmark by 35 points.  

The Rovers held the Panthers at bay from start to finish, running out 11.14 80 to 7.3 45 winners.  

And in the other match from the weekend, Loxton has continued Berri’s losing start to the season, winning 12.12 84 to 7.5 47.

In the Murray Valley Football and Netball League, Blanchetown-Swan Reach and Wunkar have both registered their first wins of the season on Saturday.  

The Redbacks managed to squeeze past Ramco to win by 10 points, while the Bulldogs beat Paringa to win by 24 points. 

Sedan-Cambrai sent the statement of the round however, beating previously undefeated Murrayville by 113 points.
