The Mid-Murray Council has outlined a proposed 6% rate rise in their draft Annual Business Plan and Budget.

Despite the proposed jump, council say they will continue to identify efficiencies & cost cutting measures as council faces a number of pressures.

Mid Murray Mayor, Dave Burgess said Council had carefully considered both the financial challenges facing its own operations and those of the Mid Murray community in setting the draft budget.

Key projects outlined in the draft plan included an 8k/m sealing of the Murraylands road from Morgan to Blanchetown.

Other items included were The Development of a Truro Township masterplan, Development of a Truro Township masterplan, Delivery of priority stages of the Swan Reach Riverfront masterplan and Completion of PS Canally restoration project.
