It’s been a very happy new year for some local sporting clubs, picking up State Government sport and recreation grant funding for a number of projects.
The Berri Sporting Stadium picked up over $140,000 to upgrade air conditioning systems, less than 5 years after the building was completed while the Cobdogla Tennis club picked up $50,000 to resurface tennis courts.
The Moorook Bowling Club will also convert to a synthetic bowling green while the Barmera golf club will upgrade their irrigation system.
Member for Chaffey Tim Whetstone said "They have committed to investing in facilities from the grassroots level through to the elite level because they know how important it is for everyone in the community to be active and healthy.”
