Victorian and NSW travellers have now crossed the border following the re-opening at midnight last night.
Since the middle of this year the border has been closed to Victoria and NSW and while it's now open a number of restrictions are still in place.
Restrictions are largely based on the risk level of where traveller is coming from, as well as the travellers vaccination status.
The former border cross system has also been replaced by the EntrycheckSA app, via the My SA Gov App.
Riverland Locals with existing cross border permits are able to use it until the expiry of the permit.
Nearly 30,000 applications have already been under the new system, with over half from very-low risk & low risk areas.
