NEW AWARD NAMED AFTER FORMER LOCAL FOOTY LEGEND

Former Riverland footballer Tony Modra, who went on to play AFL and kick nearly 600 goals has been honoured with a new medal celebrating country footballs leading goal kicker.

Modra who played for Both Loxton & Renmark said this week it was a privilege to be asked, and added he "Did have a fair bit to do with country footy back in the day,”

The newly announced Tony Modra medal was awarded this year to River Murray Football League player Jonny Boras who kicked 104 goals for the season.

The Medal is open to any senior player who plays in the 25 Regional Community Football Leagues across SA, and is supported by SA Company Fleurieu Milk.
