The recent Riverland winegrape vintage has been described as 'almost perfect' by local industry experts.
In a post vintage statement provided by Riverland Wine they say the once in a lifetime event of near textbook conditions is producing wines of outstanding quality.
Figures calculated post-harvest indicate the local crush was up by 5% to over half a million tonnes, making up 25% of the national crop.
Despite the positive vintage, a number of uncertainties remain with General Manager of Riverland Wine, Mrs Jo Pippos, noting that the pricing outlook for the coming vintage is very concerning and recommends growers contact their wineries to start discussions.
