Local mental health services are set to see a boost, thanks to the over $2 Billion dollar Federal Government mental health and suicide prevention plan.
The funding boost will see the Head To Health network roll out across Australia seeing 24 centres established for those aged over 25, while the current headspace network for those under the age of 24 will also be expanded.
While it’s been confirmed services will be boosted locally in the Riverland & Mallee, it’s too early to know the exact details of how this may look at this stage.
Local MP Tony Pasin said as part of this initiative, the Government will also work in partnership with state and territory governments to continue to expand the network of community-based adult mental health services.”
