There are calls for water metering in the Murray Darling basin to be improved.
In a statement last week, the Murray Darling Basin Authority outlined a review found that the The lack of uniform standards in the Compliance Compact means that where Basin governments are broadly committed to the same action, there are considerable differences.
Head of the MDBA’s Office of Compliance, Daniel Blacker said consistency across the Basin needed to improve.
Mr Blacker added “Metering, measurement and monitoring are compliance fundamentals that need to be in place before we can expect public confidence to improve"
More information on the review can be found via the MDBA website.
