With many Riverland & Mallee businesses highlighting the struggle to attract workers, it would appear the issue is now nationwide.
Figures reveal currently over 60,000 jobs are available in regional areas, an all-time high.
Regional Australia Institute CEO Liz Ritchie says this is the largest number since records began, surpassing the demand during the mining construction boom a decade ago.
Ms Ritchie added “Regional job vacancies now account for nearly one third of all vacancies across the country"
While many have cited shortages in the horticultural sector locally, health care & social assistance continue to be the largest drivers of job vacancies.
