Local farmers, landholders as well as community groups can now apply for funding to deliver benefits to local wetlands and rivers.
In total $6 million is up for grabs, with maximum individual payment of $50,000 to deliver practical on ground projects.
Local federal MP, Tony Pasin said the grants give local organisations a direct role in looking after the Basin.
The local member added “These grants will help our local farmers and communities ensure the money is going where it’s needed most to protect the health of our important waterways,”
