The Renmark-Paringa council has endorsed amendments to expressions of interest documentation regarding a prominent council owned building in Renmark.
Recently council held consultation on what the community would like to see happen to the council owned Murray Avenue building, recently vacated by the Westpac bank.
Community survey responses indicated some in the community were keen to see the building demolished, while some were equally keen to see the 1930’s art-deco building restored.
Despite a difference of preferred outcomes, a strong theme throughout was community’s interest was to see the building and site remain in council hands.
A council spokesperson said council would soon go out with initial phase of the expressions of interest to see who, if any may be interested in doing something with the building.
