Despite ongoing challenges regarding travel and other uncertainty’s this year’s Riverland Dinghy Derby is still powering ahead with strong numbers.

Club officials said they were hopeful of 70 entries for this year’s race however a flurry of late nominations sees 91 competitors set to tackle this year’s race.

Club president Scott Jenke praised interstate racers saying it’s a large commitment to pay race entry fees, book accommodation and travel, just to compete in a dinghy boat race.

The typical per-cursor to the Derby, the Dash-For-Cash this year will be run later in the year, meaning round one will be the Dinghy Derby on the 7th of February.
