Problematic irrigation systems that were less than 10 years old in some local ovals has been replaced.
Sub surface irrigation systems were installed in 2011 at the Berri & Barmera ovals a cost at the time of two million dollars, partly funded by the state & federal governments.
The replacement systems were funny funded under a Federal Government Program.
Berri Barmera Council CEO Karyn Burton said the sub surface irrigation system has been a problem at both ovals.
The new systems are seen to both reduce maintenance costs as well as deliver a more consistent playing surface.
