Worldwide wine production falling

The Riverland’s lower than usual wine grape harvest has contributed to a world drop in wine production.

According to the international organsiation of vine and wine, global wine production has fallen to the smallest level since 1961.

Climatic conditions were cited as major factors in some wine producing regions, while commercial demand dropping was a major factor locally.

The drop in world production however comes at a time when a major over supply locally is currently causing significant issues for the local industry.
