Winery creditor meeting held

A second meeting of creditors for Salena Estate Wines is expected to take place in coming weeks, after this weeks initial meeting.

This follows last months announcement the Bookpurnong based operation was now in administration.

At the meeting, Timothy Mableson & Ryan Eagle of KPMG were appointed to control the operation, while Andrew Heard & Anthony Phillips were appointed as receivers.

For now the business is still trading, with administrators outlining recently their initial focus was to stabilise the business and look for either a restructure or a sale of the business.

Like many wine producers, the wine producer was understood to have seen significant business impacts from the loss of the Chinese market in recent years.

After its establishment in the late 1990’s, the operation now produces around 15,000 tonnes each year.
