Upgrades for key local Highway

After being labelled one of SA’s Worst Grain Roads, the Mallee Highway will soon see significant investment for improvements.

A 65 kilometre section upgraded this year as part of an $168M government program, which has been welcomed by the states peak grain industry body.

Grain Producers SA CEO Brad Perry said “Investment in road upgrades across South Australia’s grain producing regions is vital for ensuring our $4 billion crop can get to port efficiently and safely.”

Mr Perry added further “The Mallee Highway was listed in GPSA’s Top 10 Worst Grain Roads as voted by grain producers and we welcome any funding to this important stretch of road that our growers use daily.
