It could be the end of the road for the much loved Cobdogla Steam Museum.
The museum opened in the 1980’s, and has since been run by a dedicated volunteer group, who are independent of SA Water.
SA Water, who control the Crown Land site blocked off public access during the flood event late last year, and this week outlined their intention not to re-open the site to the public.
SA Water say it’s no longer viable to re-open the site, stating as an economically regulated water services provider, they have a responsibility to keep prices low and stable for our customers right across the state.
Moves to hand the crown land control over to the volunteer Cobodgla Steam Friends group has also hit several road blocks.
