Traffic offences detected

More local drivers have been caught committing traffic offences by Murray Mallee Police.

On Saturday Police reported a 61-year-old man from Renmark after he was detected travelling at 70km/h in a 60km/h zone.

He will now need to face court after Police checks revealed that he was disqualified from driving at the time.

Also on Saturday Waikerie Police reported a 38-year-old man from Paisley after he allegedly provided a positive blood alcohol test result of 0.084.

Then on Sunday, a 45-year-old man from Berri was stopped on De Fontenay Road at Barmera for the purpose of a random breath test. The driver then allegedly returned a positive result of 0.094.

As a result he was issued an instant six month instant loss of licence and had his vehicle impounded for 28 days.

He will also be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
