February 21, 2024 8:50 am in by

Firefighters remain at the Waikerie waste transfer station today as smoke from a fire continues to produce a hazard.

The fire on Maggea Road started around 1.30am Tuesday, with a pile of used tyres together with green waste producing smoke.

The fire is not expected to spread outside the waste transfer station itself, however those in the area impacted by smoke are urged to take care.
