Ruston calling for 60 day dispensing delay

Riverland based senator Anne Ruston has thrown her support behind community pharmacies, as they raise concerns over 60 day dispensing.

While Ruston said they support the 60-day dispensing, the libs now say Labors approach did not adequately consult with community pharmacists before the policy was announced.

Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care Ruston said  “Local pharmacists are vital to regional communities & People of all ages and abilities in rural and regional Australia rely on their local pharmacists as they’re often the only primary care professional in town”

The Libs aren’t calling for the policy to be scrapped, just delayed to allow for greater discussions with the industry.

As it stands, 60 day dispensing is set to start next month.
