Renmark’s Josh Vater has been awarded the Riverland Football League’s highest individual honour.

At Monday night’s Whillas Medal presentation the Renmark Rovers playing coach finished the best and fairest count two votes ahead of the Runner up Sam Butterworth of Barmera-Monash.

The medal was the first for Vater, who’s coached the Rovers since 2019.

While shocked with the win, Vater thanked his team and club for the season so far, who will play in the Grand Final this weekend against Barmera-Monash.

Third place in the count was tied between Loxton’s Harley Campbell & Steve Burton of Barmera-Monash.
