River flows slowing

River Murray flows to SA are expected to ease again this week, as works commence at key river infrastructure locally.

Last week flows hovered around 6 gigalitres(GL) per day, and by Friday this week are forecast to sit closer to 3GL per day.

Storage levels at Lake Victoria now sits around 44% capacity, with flows from the lake making up over 60% of SA’s total flow figure.

Paringa’s lock 5 will see significant maintenance work commence this week with the lock closed to River traffic for up to 23 weeks.

Crews from SA Water will undertake several tasks, including repairing the locks valves, along with repairs to the large lock gates.
