A review by the essential services commission has outlined a local council is sustainable, despite having a very small population base.
The review of the Karoonda East Murray Council found while the council was ‘Mostly sustainable’ some risks were outlined – including the possible consolidation of farms seeing the number of rateable properties drop.
Just over 1000 residents lived in the Council area in 2021.
