Safework SA are reminding fruit and vegetable producers of their Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations.
Earlier this month a worker had clothing caught in packing line equipment at a local packing shed, causing a serious injury to the workers arm.
She was airlifted to Adelaide, with SafeWork SA Acting Executive Director Glenn Farrell said guards on machinery provide a physical barrier that is highly effective at preventing injury or death.

Mr Farrell added further ‘Failing to put adequate control measures in place on items of plant, such as guarding, can have significant life changing consequences for a worker,’ he said.
